Jada Uses Mother’s Day To Build, Grow With ‘RedTable Talks’

For Mother’s Day, you may want to try having a roundtable with your mom or daughter. That’s what actress Jada Pinkett-Smith decided to do with her daughter, Willow, and mom, Adrienne Banfield Jones. Just in time for the holiday, Jada released the “RedTable Talks,” a videotaped three-generation conversation about freedom, love, disappointment, and freedom.

Starting off the conversation with nothing but a red table and a glass bowl full of questions, actress Jada let the public in on an honest dialogue with family. On why she created “RedTable,” Jada says:

“My belief is that communication is the best way to create strong relationships.  Just for people to be able to sit down together and have a conversation, that’s the power of love. Love is what sometimes holds us and binds us when we’re not so happy. If we concentrate on how much we can love one another, we can get through all the other stuff.”

The conversation got right to the nitty gritty with Jada’s mother, Adrienne, expressing that she felt that she wasn’t a good Mother to Jada because she spent the first 17 or 18 years of Jada’s life as a drug abuser:
