A California man was reportedly arrested for caring a “Super Soaker” water gun (not the one pictured) that had been altered to hold a shotgun shell, not water.
Fresno police told KMPH-TV that they arrested Randy Smith, 54, after they received information about toy guns being converted to actual weapons. When they encountered Smith, he was walking the streets while carrying the weapon around his neck in a sling.
“He took the Super Soaker apart, was able to fashion a barrel to where he was able to make what’s considered a zip gun, where you can fire one round through it,” Sergeant Mark Hudson told KMPH. “In this case it was a 20 gauge shotgun shell.”
