Since Douglas began her whirlwind television appearances recently, the look of her hair has changed for the better. The stylist has worked with the likes of Gabrielle Union, Angelina Jolie and Anne Hathaway.

When Douglas’ hair was targeted during the games, critics took to Twitter and Facebook and viciously ripped the young girl’s hairstyle apart: the clips that held her hair in place, its coarse texture, the heavy brown gel she apparently used to keep her hair in place, the human hair ponytail she clipped on.

The social mediums were set ablaze with chatter about the state of Douglas’ hair.  Although she did have some people who had her back and lambasted the critics who focused on the triviality of her hairstyle, they still seemed to be outnumbered by those who were mean-spirited.

Gibson, who also was in awe of the history-making young girl, told the Daily Beast he could not understand the negative backlash about Douglas’ hair.
