The Ward 8 Food Pantries Collaborative is comprised of food pantries located in Ward 8. The primary purpose of the Collaborative is to work collectively to relieve hunger in Ward 8. This opportunity is fostered by the various church ministries and organizations within the Ward 8 community.

*   On August 10, 2013, the Collaborative will host its third Community Day. The purpose of the Community Day is to cultivate, educate, and empower the Ward 8 community through the dissemination of information and onsite services. In 2012, Over 350 persons attended and received free groceries from the Capital Area Food Bank, blood pressure checks, HIV/AIDS testing, physicals for children, school supplies, cooking demonstrations, elder care, job training, and information on services provided by UPO, Bread for the City, and SOME.
