(Mexico City) — Authorities in Mexico say they’ve foiled an apparent plot to kill President Felipe Calderon. A mid-level member of the Sinaloa drug cartel has reportedly been arrested along with four suspected drug traffickers in connection with the plot. President Calderon has angered drug cartels in his country with his ongoing effort to wipe them out. Since the crackdown began in late 2006, drug-related violence has exploded ending more than 13,000 lives in Mexico. Some of that violence has spilled into the U.S.
