(Washington, DC)  —  A Metrobus driver who says she used her cellphone on duty because her work-issued radio wasn’t working will get to keep her job, but two other bus drivers have been fired for their behavior.  Union officials had asked that a driver who was caught on camera using her cellphone be allowed back on the job because she had been speaking to Central Control and was not operating the bus while having the conversation.  The driver who was reinstated had been using the phone to report a mechanical problem with the bus and she has since been re-instructed regarding operating procedures.   A driver charged with kidnapping for refusing to let a passenger off the bus after an argument has been fired as was a driver arrested for driving with a suspended license after crashing into a car.
