VIA WASHINGTON POST:

A D.C. fire official says a fire broke out at the Embassy of Gabon.

The fire was reported around 3:30 a.m. Monday at the embassy in the Adams Morgan neighborhood.

When firefighters arrived, fire department spokesman Pete Piringer says they found significant fire in the basement, but it was quickly put out.

Piringer says no one was in the building when the fire broke out and no injuries were reported. He says damage to the building is estimated at about $100,000.
