WASHINGTON, D.C. – D.C. Police say a Pepco worker who was working on a power outage in Northwest Washington on Thursday night was shot.

It happened near the Windows Café & Market on Rhode Island Avenue NW near 1st Avenue NW just after 7 p.m. Investigators say the crew from Pepco was there working on a power outage when a man they didn’t know came up and shot one of the workers.

Authorities believe the bullet grazed the victim’s head, and he was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is still on the loose, police say. No other details were immediately available.
