VIA SINGERSROOM:

The star-studded, global benefit ‘Hope For Haiti Now’ has already broken records when it comes to raising funds.

According to organizers, “Hope for Haiti Now” has raised more than $58 million to date, surpassing Hurricane Katrina related telethons and public donations. Inclusive of donations made online, via phone and through mobile texting, the figure is not final and does not include what are said to be strong sales of songs performed now for sale on iTunes.

“The public has set a new standard of giving for a relief telethon with ‘Hope for Haiti Now,’ and the donations continue to come in — people can still contribute 24/7 via phone, web and text,” said Lisa Paulsen, President & CEO of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing philanthropic support to “Hope for Haiti Now.”

“Hope For Haiti Now’ featured performances and guest appearances in London, New York, Los Angeles and Haiti from Wyclef Jean, Beyonce, Rihanna, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J Blige, Shakira, Bono, Sting, Jay Z, and more.

Donations can still be made through hopeforhaitinow.org.
