(Upper Marlboro, MD) — Prince George’s County Public Schools officials are pointing to results from recent standardized tests and Adequate Yearly Progress reports as proof of improvement in the schools. Board of Education Chair Verjeana Jacobs says she is particularly pleased by a ten-point jump in Grade Eight reading achievement in the Maryland School Assessment tests this past year. In fact, all grades between three and eight with the exception of grade four showed improvement in the county this year. In math, there were smaller gains, but only Grade Seven showed a small setback.
