Never one to shy away from anyone or any topic, the ever feisty and brilliant Tamron Hall put a figurative “smack-down” on conservative columnist Tim Carney when he appeared as a guest on her MSNBC show, reports the Huffington Post.

Carney was invited on to discuss how presumptive GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney is handling the fallout from the exposure of his alleged homophobic, bullying antics in high school. Instead of answering that question, Carney decides to call Hall and other so-called liberal media outlets “absurd” for allowing the “non-story” to thrive another day:

What you’re doing here is a typical media trick. You hype up a story and then you justify the second day coverage of the story by saying, “Oh, people are talking about it. Here’s how Romney responded to it,” Carney said. “You are bringing up a meta story, which is ‘what is Romney’s response to this other non-story.’ I’m trying to go meta meta on you and say here’s some media treatment of the Romney response.”

Oh, no –not in “Ms. Tamron’s house” you won’t:

You don’t want me to go anything on you because you’re actually irritating me right now.”

As Carney continued to sputter and back-pedal away from his initial antagonistic stance, Hall continued to hit him with the 1-2 punch:

“If you’re not comfortable [with talking about the Romney story], I am A-okay but you’re not going to come on and insult me. You not going to come on and insult me. You’re not going to come on and insult the network when you knew what you were going to talk about. Done. Now, let me talk to Jimmy. I’m done.”

Carney, who seemed stunned to be sent to the corner by Hall, asked incredulously, “Are you actually  cutting me off?”

“Yes, I am,” Hall said.

Then she dropped the mic — literally.

As far as boxing matches go, that was clearly a TKO.
