As Republic Airlines flight attendant Jaclyn Luby (pictured) was making her way though Airport security at the Philadelphia International Airport on Monday, a TSA agent spotted her .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver in her carryon. ABC affiliate WPVI-TV reports that it was a mistake, but the incident ended up becoming much more than that. After the gun was spotted, Luby was immediately taken to another room for questioning.

She has a carrying permit for the weapon.
When a Philadelphia police officer was attempting to secure the gun, it went off. The bullet went throw a well but no one was injured. Philly police have launched an investigation into how their officer handled the gun. The officer has been put on desk duty.
As for Luby, she taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct. She was later released. Police confiscated Luby’s gun and said that it would be up to the county that issued her gun permit if she will get it back, according to NBC 10 Philadelphia.

Luby was supposed to be working a flight at the time she was taken into custody. But another flight attendant was called in to take her place. Luby, according to WPVI-TV, has been with Republic Airlines for more than five years.
At least one person preparing to board a flight seems to feel Luby should not be harshly punished.
“We are human and everybody does make mistakes and I understand that even though she’s a seasoned veteran she needs to be careful and I’m sure it will be a great learning opportunity for her,” US Airways passenger Andrea Burger said.
Philly airport officials say that, at least once per month, someone mistakenly brings a gun through security.
