WASHINGTON –Whitman-Walker Health will observe World AIDS Day with its annual candlelight vigil at Dupont Circle beginning at 5:00 pm on Saturday, Dec. 1. Whitman-Walker’s mobile testing unit will be onsite to provide free HIV testing.

“My wish is that the year 2012 may be remembered as the beginning of the end of the HIV/AIDS epidemic,” said Don Blanchon, executive director of Whitman-Walker Health. “Advances in medical care announced in 2012 now give us hope that we may, very soon, see the first AIDS-free generation in decades.

“This year’s World AIDS Day will not just be a time to remember the lost and those who continue to live with HIV; it will be a time to look toward a future with more hope than in recent years. We invite the entire community to join us for this special night.” For more information, visit www.whitman-walker.org
