Rockville Considers Playground Smoking Ban

(Rockville, MD) — Rockville’s city council is considering a proposal to ban smoking at the city’s playgrounds. Rockville Mayor Susan Hoffman tells WJLA-TV, quote, “There is no downside to keeping smoking away from children in playgrounds. I just don’t see how this is not going to go forward.” The council will vote on the measure when it next meets, on September 14th. If approved, it would only apply to public parks in the city.
