Some of the terror suspects being held in Guantanamo Bay are one step closer to being released. That’s because Congress just passed a defense bill including a provision that eases restrictions on the transfer of detainees out of the military prison in Cuba. The move is considered by many to be a win for President Obama, who came into his first term promising to close the facility. But is he doing enough?

In a discussion on NewsOne Now with Roland Martin, a panel of experts discussed the president’s effectiveness on this issue.  ”I think he’s being poorly advised,” said radio talk show host William Leon. [Obama’s advisers] “play too much into the political dynamic, and I think in too many instances he plays to not to lose, instead of playing to win.”

Do you agree, or think things are moving in the right direction on Guantanamo Bay? Check out the panel discussion below.
