(HOUSTON) — Ryan Robert Walton is charged with two counts of murder for the shooting deaths of his parents, Michael Walton, 54, and Lynda Walton, 52, who were found dead Thursday night in their home in Lake Pointe Estates subdivision in Katy.
A statewide search for Ryan Walton was issued Friday. Surveillance video at the subdivision showed him leaving Lake Pointe Estates Thursday at 9 a.m. in his mother’s BMW.
Just before noon Saturday, that vehicle was spotted at FM 762 and Highway 59 in the Rosenberg area.
Walton was found by an off-duty Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office sergeant around 12:30 p.m. He was taken into custody in front of a business at the intersection of Fourth Street and Avenue H in Rosenberg.
Ryan Walton is being held in Fort Bend County Jail without bond.
During a press conference Saturday afternoon, Sheriff Troy E. Nehls said Ryan Walton had been at his parents’ home, but left three weeks ago.
Investigators are still looking for the murder weapon, a small-caliber gun.
