Parts of Baltimore have been in despair for decades, however this week’s riots may have set the area back. Yesterday, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly shared his insight on how the issues between police officials and demonstrators are hurting the Baltimore area. During his “Talking Points Memo,” he said he believes African-Americans are “honest, hardworking people” who are looking for opportunities to advance in life, however the violence and rioting taking place is going to limit them from getting ahead. “Rioting has now diminished that opportunity big time,” said O’Reilly. “It is a fact that irresponsible criminals in Baltimore have once again hurt good folks, this time on a mass level. President Barack Obama Steps Away from Ending Death Penalty
President Barack Obama and his administration have decided to distance themselves from matters concerning the death penalty. Last year, it seemed as if he was taking steps forward towards a history-changing decision to end it; but after a botched execution in Oklahoma that brought the death penalty to the forefront of a national conversation, the administration is having second thoughts. President Obama said that it was time to “ask ourselves some difficult and profound questions,” when it comes to corporeal punishment. Read more.
Common Nabs Role in “Barbershop 3”
Chicago-bred rapper Common has gone beyond the mic and is pursuing a serious acting career. He’s joined the cast of WB’s Suicide Squad, Rob Reiner’s Being Charlie, and signed on to do Hunter Killer. According to reports, the rapper-turned-actor also recently signed on to have a starring role in Barbershop 3. The film, which will be directed by Malcolm D. Lee and written by Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and Tracy Oliver will also star Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer. Read more.
