Local Astronaut Going Back To Outer Space

(Springfield, VA) — A local astronaut is going back to outer space. Patrick Forrester of Springfield will go on Space Shuttle Discovery’s next journey to the International Space Station. This is Forrester’s third shuttle mission. His first was in 2001 aboard Discovery. During the mission, he took two spacewalks and worked on key robotics equipment. Forrester also flew on the 2007 Space Shuttle Atlantis mission. He’s set to return to space on August 25th, when a seven-member crew is scheduled to blast off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
