 Baltimore City’ Health Commissioner

has extended a Code Red heat advisory through Tuesday with a high heat index forecasted.

The heat index in the city is expected to reach 105 degrees, meaning locals can expect hot temperatures coupled with humidity over the next couple of days following a sweltering weekend. Health Commissioner Dr. Leana Wen is warning citizens to stay hydrated and avoid extra time spent outside. Code Red alerts are declared when heat conditions are severe enough to threaten the wellbeing and even the life of vulnerable people.
