How can a homeless man help restore the marriage of an international art dealer and his wife? Djimon Hounsou knows just how in the film Same Kind Of Different As Me. The true story premieres in theatres on October 20, 2017.

“It’s an amazing dynamic inspiring relationship between an international art dealer that’s forced to befriend and emotionally sacred homeless man in order to redeem his marriage,” explained Hounsou.

Even more amazing is that film was based on a true story. Sybil asked if Hounsou met his character in real life.

“The real Denver had passed away in 2012. We began filming this in 2014. I didn’t get a chance to meet him,” explained Hounsou sadly.

For actors, you always wonder if a little bit of the person they’ve played has rubbed off on them or changed them. Hounsou says it has but, “I guess I have yet to exactly pinpoint what those changes are.”
