The American Civil Liberties Union of Maryland (ACLU) is claiming that if the neighborhood was white that they would not have treated the residents as they were treated in the wake of Baltimore Homicide Detective Sean Suiter’s fatal shooting last month. ACLU senior staff attorney David Rocah stated “The treatment of every resident in Harlem Park as a suspect, without any plausible explanation, would simply not have happened in a neighborhood that was more affluent or not predominately Black,”.
