Al Koken joins B-Mitch and Scott Jackson to discuss Alex Ovechkin’s continued dominance. After scoring a hat trick, the 25th of his career, in Washington’s 5-2 win over the New Jersey Devils, Ovechkin became the 2nd player ever in the NHL to score at least 30 goals in each of his first 15 seasons. Koken deemed Ovechkin “as good an athlete as we’ll see in this town” and someone that “continues to defy logic” based off of his high level of play. The fact that Ovechkin isn’t showing any signs of slowing down is a little scary and suggests that he may in fact have more left in the tank after his contract expires next year. A guy that’s been with Ovechkin the last 13 years, Nicklas Backstrom, just signed an extension, which lead B-Mitch, Scott and Al to ponder if maybe they’ll retire together.
