(Washington, DC)  —  The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority plans to hold three public hearings on a series of rate hikes along the Dulles Toll Road.  A 25-cent increase is proposed for both the main toll plaza and the road’s ramps next year.  There would be additional 25-cent jumps at the main toll plaza in 2011 and 2012.  The Authority says revenue is needed to support construction of the Dulles rail project as well as Dulles Toll Road improvements.  The first meeting will be held August 24th at Ashburn Elementary School, the second September 3rd at McLean High and the third September 9th at South Lakes High in Reston.  The meetings all start at 5 p.m.  The formal public comment period started yesterday and will end September 14th.
