WASHINGTON – As the Washington Football Team prepped for their first official home game, fans poured into Fed Ex Field’s new “Grey Lot.”

“When we first heard about it, we were very worried,” says Patrick Randall of Silver Spring, MD.

Tailgaters like Randall and his buddies were told in June they would be moved to the new Grey Lot. But after much trepidation, Randall says it’s a success. “Its wide open, more communal then even the green lot was. This just feels like a better experience.”

Across the lot, Warren Sumlin of Newark, DE says the new lot offers so much space; he can now throw a football with his 5 year old son. “Couldn’t ask for a better place to set up. Great BBQ, have a good time, activities, just fun.”

But not everyone is in love.

A Washington Football Team spokesman says the tag cost season ticket holders $35 a game. But Mike Weinert of Gaithersburg, MD says he paid $70 for Sunday’s game. “It’s worth like $7 maybe. I can’t even see the stadium. There’s trees in front of it, it’s a mile and a half from the stadium. That’s a long walk. I think Dan Snyder needs to figure something out because it’s terrible.”
