A DC man has been convicted of sexually abusing a 15-year-old female student. He was a former basketball coach and computer teacher.

(Washington, DC) — A basketball coach and computer teacher has been convicted of the sexual abuse of a 15-year-old student. Thirty-three-year-old Daniel King III of Washington, DC pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree child sexual abuse with aggravating circumstances. He faces a maximum penalty of life in jail when he is sentenced by a judge in September. According to evidence presented at the plea hearing, King met the victim when she was a ten-year-old student. Beginning in 2005, King engaged in a sexual relationship with the girl which continued until December 2007. King was the child’s computer teacher, basketball coach, and school mentor at the time.
