(Jessup, MD)  —  Unionized workers at a Giant Food warehouse in Jessup are bracing for the worst as a New Hampshire company gets ready to take over the facility they work in next month.  Hundreds of workers and union leaders met last night to talk about what the future may hold when C&S Wholesale Grocers takes over warehouse operations in the dry-goods section of the warehouse.  There’s some concern after C&S laid off eleven-hundred workers in New Jersey recently.  Giant Food says it’s outsourcing operations there to save money.  Union leaders think this is Giant’s way of playing hardball and getting a better labor contract when the current one expires in May.  Officials in Governor O’Malley’s administration were on hand at last night’s meeting and are watching things closely.
