DC Council To Look At UDC President’s Expenses

The President of the University of the District of Columbia will soon face the City Council to answer for his high-priced travel expenses.  Dr. Allen Sessoms has spent thousands of university dollars for trips, including nearly eight-thousand dollars to fly one-way to Egypt and Council wants to hear more about his spending habits at a hearing next week.  Sessoms says he has presented receipts for all travel and he has already requested an internal audit, which will be presented to UDC’s Board.  The Council is also planning for an audit.  Some students say at a time when tuition is up and programs are cut, Sessoms needs to resign.
