(Washington, DC) — Gas prices in the four-dollar-per gallon range have given a big boost to the District’s Bikeshare program. According to the latest numbers, rentals for Capital Bikeshare have doubled in the last couple of months from two-to-three-thousand trips per day to four or five-thousand. Chris Holben, who manages the bikesharing program for the DC Department of Transportation tells ABC-7 News that the numbers will probably increase with this week’s springlike weather.
