(Washington, DC)  —  DC Mayor Vincent Gray wants to help offset the city’s budget gap by using a community fund set up during the construction of National’s stadium.  WJLA-TV the mayor says it would provide some financial relief for the District, but members of the Washington Interfaith Network say the mayor is ignoring an obligation to taxpayers.  In exchange for the money to build a new stadium, the city agreed to set aside tax revenues from the surrounding neighborhood for a community benefit fund to pay for new libraries, affordable housing and schools.  To date no money has been spent and Juanita Hutchinson with the Interfaith group says members expect the city to honor the agreement.  The council votes on the budget May 25th.
