Victim Was Congressman’s Nephew

(Washington,DC)  —  Baltimore Congressman Elijah Cummings says his nephew, 20-year-old Christopher Cummings, was “an amazing young man” who was loved and admired by many. He was an “exceptional” student with a three-point-five grade point average at Old Dominion University.  Police in Norfolk say, at this point, they have no suspects nor motive in Cummings’ shooting death Friday at his off-campus house.  The congressman says he and his family remain in shock.  Cummings was a junior at ODU, studying criminal justice.  His roommate was wounded in the incident. Cummings was from Woodbridge and graduated from Forest Park High School.
