A new survey conducted by TheRoot.com took on the topic of tipping which is wrapped in racial stereotypes.
According to the study, Black diners place more of a premium on good service and were more likely to say that one should tip as a “reward for good service.” African-Americans were less likely to cite the low wages that waitstaff earn as a reason to tip.
The 10-question survey generated a total of 842 responses, including answers from 646 blacks and 121 whites.
