(Washington, DC)  —  Despite his turbulent time in office, President Obama should still have plenty of support among minority voters at the polls next year.  Maryland Congresswoman Donna Edwards says members of the African-American community are, like many Americans, both supportive and critical of the President’s policies.

Edwards shared her observations on the President’s status in the African-American community during a gathering at the Center for American Progress on Monday.  Like all Americans, Edwards says job creation and training are also major concerns within the African-American community.  She says the President will have to make those issues a priority during his campaign for reelection for 2012.  Democratic Congresswoman Donna Edwards says the concerns of the African-American community regarding the President’s policies are very much the same as the concerns of the majority of Americans.
