(Washington, DC)  – The National Park Service and organizers of the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial dedication in Washington are keeping an eye on the path of Hurricane Irene, which is forecast to move into the Mid-Atlantic this weekend .  The memorial is scheduled to be formally dedicated this Sunday, on the 48th anniversary of Dr. King’s “I Have A Dream” speech.  Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend the memorial dedication ceremony on the Mall, but the weather could put a damper on that.  The government is considering alternative plans.
