Among the notable guests were comedy legend Dave Chappelle, Houston rap icon Bun B, rapper Maxo Kream, NFL star Adrian Peterson, and DJ Chase B, adding a Texas-sized dose of star power to the celebration. Following the dinner, guests made their way to The River Oaks Theatre for a special screening of “Mo” Season 2. The evening concluded with an insightful conversation featuring the cast, moderated by cultural critic Taylor Crumpton, and a surprise guest appearance. The event was a full-circle moment for Mo, a show deeply rooted in Houston’s vibrant culture and diverse communities. In a special nod to the city’s support, The River Oaks Theatre will host a Mo Community Day today (Jan. 29), offering free screenings of the first two episodes to Houston locals. Season 2 of “Mo” picks up with Mo Najjar (played by Amer) stranded across the border, desperate to return home before his family’s asylum hearing.
