Looking to score political points on Obama’s support for gay marriage, Mr. “Etch-A-SketchMitt Romney came out to reaffirm his opposition to marriage equality.

But in a 1994 interview with LGBT newspaper “Bay Windows,” Romney said that he would be “better than Ted (Kennedy) for gay rights” during his unsuccessful campaign to unseat the late Massachusetts Senator.

According to a Dec. 6, 2006 Bay Window’s article that criticized him on gay rights during his tenure as Governor of Massachusetts, Romney was at one time a very liberal Republican who was all for gay marriage. When asked by the paper in 1994 on whether or not he would support equality of gays, Romney didn’t flinch.
