After 75 years of blessing us with over four decades of his music, Chuck Brown has reportedly passed away today. The Godfather of Go-Go music has been hospitalized since mid-April according to Huffington Post due to the pneumonia and other complications. He died at John Hopkins University Hospital earlier today, Wednesday, May 16, 2012.
Brown is undoubtedly one of the most influential musicians that the DMV has ever seen. He created a brand of funk that Washington, D.C. could call its own.
