VIA MYFOXDC:
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Police say a D.C. fire engine lost a piece of equipment near the 11th Street Bridge ramp on northbound Interstate 295 Monday night, and about a dozen cars ran over it. The debris caused a number of flat tires, and in some cases accident.
According to police, a hose and other pieces of equipment fell off the fire engine and onto the roadway near exit 3A on I-295 northbound. That led to a backup near the scene.
No injuries were reported, but police were on the scene helping to clean up and re-direct traffic.
