Kwame Brown May Be Charged For Fraud

Charges against Council Chairman Kwame Brown will be filed soon for personal finance fraud, according to News4. Supposedly, the fraud stemmed from his 2008 campaign for an at-large council seat. According to NBCWashington, Brown stated:

“I don’t think I broke any laws in the 2008 campaign, and that’s all I’m going to say about the 2008 campaign.”

Reportedly, he Brown says that he does not plan to resign despite the federal investigation, but if he does Council-member Mary Cheh would be the interim chair.
