With the temperatures reaching the 100s this weekend, and many residents still without power from the deadly storm last Friday, it can be hard to find a place to get out of the dangerous heat.

According to NBC Washington, Pepco has announced expects to restore power to 90 percent of customers affected by 11 p.m. Friday and Virginia’s Dominion hopes to hit that mark by Thursday.

Make sure to drink lots of fluids, stay in the shade or indoors in air conditioning and take frequent breaks from strenuous outdoor work.

The DMV offers cooling centers during extreme heat.  Call 311 for detailed information about cooling center locations.

Find out more about local cooling centers here.
