Participants are needed for a new study at The National Institute of Health. ClinSeq is an exciting new study that is looking at how genes may cause or contribute to common diseases, such as heart disease. The ClinSeq study needs African American, African or Afro-Caribbean volunteers between the ages of 45 and 65, who have a primary care physician or a community health center where they receive healthcare, who have not smoked in the past year, and who live in the metropolitan Washington,DC or Baltimore areas. Interested individuals who are eligible to participate will have an initial evaluation that includes blood tests, an EKG, an echocardiogram and possibly a heart CT scan. These test are free of charge, and participants are compensated $100 to cover the cost of travel expenses. Participants are asked to be a part of the study for several years.
