Jimmie ‘J.J.’ Walker: I Do Not Accept Gay Marriage on ‘Moral Grounds’

Jimmie ‘J.J.’ Walker shared his opinion that same-sex marriage is immoral on CNN, reports Huffington Post.

“There’s just certain traditions that need to be upheld,” said Kid Dyn-o-mite. “I’m a believer that gay marriage should be passed because the battle is not worth the war. The gay lobby is very loud. I’m totally against it.”

He continued, “In 100 years from now, people are going to go, ‘Who was against gay marriage?’ And I’ll be one of those idiots and say, ‘That’s me.’ I’m just against it on moral grounds, that’s it. I’m as much a heathen as anybody. I just don’t believe on moral grounds it should be done. I don’t like it, I don’t accept it.”

Currently promoting his memoir, Dyn-omite, Walker caused quite the stir when he appeared on FOX News and explained why he does not support President Barack Obama:

“Barack Obama is more like a Tony Roberts type of guy,” Walker told Bill O’Reilly. “You feel real good and happy and everything and then you go home and there’s a foreclosure sign on your door. And you just go, ‘Wait a minute. I just had this great meeting with this guy. He made me feel real good.’ And I don’t think he’s a bad guy. I don’t think he’s a good guy for the job we have to do.”

O’Reilly wasted no time fanning the inevitable flames caused by Walker’s response by asking him was he prepared for the backlash he was sure to receive from other Black Americans.

Walker’s response? “Sometimes even a brother, you have to let him go.”

It will be interesting to see how different the response will be to Walker’s conservative views this week. While most African-Americans support Obama, many African-Americans agree with Walker’s stance on same-sex marriage.

The more this issue is illuminated in the Black community, the fact that as a voting bloc we collectively lean fiscally liberal and socially conservative will come into sharp focus.
