In another twist in Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson‘s tumultuous week, the six-time Pro Bowler’s release from the Miami Dolphins-as well as his numerous dropped passes during training camp–was aired on HBO’s reality NFL series “Hard Knocks” on Tuesday night.

During the five-minute segment, Dolphins’ head coach, Joe Philbin, is shown in his office talking on the phone with an unnamed person expressing his displeasure with Johnson’s press conference profanity and recent tweets before he enters the room. When Philbin sits Johnson down, he tells him that he no longer has a future with team.

Below are transcribed excerpts from their conversation:
Johnson: Coach, I’ve never been in trouble before. Ever.
Philbin: I know that.
Johnson: And I buy into your program. Most definitely. Because after that talk we had, I was touched from that point on and I was going to stay that way for the entire year.
Philbin: It’s not just last night. It’s…where we are as a football program and where you are and where we’re headed…I just don’t see the mesh right now.
It was a sad scene.
Johnson looked like he was ready to cry, but he held it together.

For him to be fired from his job, especially in today’s economy, is surely devastating. But for him to lose his it in such a grand, televised fashion after being handed divorce papers and having his secondary source of income ( “Ev and Ocho” VH1) canned is surely traumatizing for him.

Another potential public relations disaster is in works as TMZ claims that Johnson lied about not getting in trouble with the law in the past. Here is an excerpt of that TMZ report:
According to court records obtained by TMZ, Johnson was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery in L.A. on February 7, 2000 … just before he began playing football for Oregon State University.
Sources close to the case tell us the victim was his GF at the time … and she told police the football star had slapped her in the face after he accused her of cheating on him.
According to court records, Johnson — 22 years old at the time — pled no contest … and the court found him guilty of domestic battery.
Johnson was sentenced to 3 years probation and ordered to serve 45 days in L.A. County Jail. But Johnson struck a deal with the court which allowed him to avoid jail … as long as he completed 30 days of graffiti removal work with CalTrans. Johnson was also required to complete a 12 month batterer’s counseling program and ordered to stay 100 yards away from the victim.
But Johnson didn’t complete his probation requirements in a timely manner … according to court records, he blew off the hard labor AND the dom. violence program for years.
After a judge tacked on an additional 15 days of graffiti removal, Johnson finally completed his legal obligations in 2002 … when he was a member of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Ochocinco has not responded to the allegation.
He has yet to respond to another allegation from a woman claiming to be his mistress. Beverly Shriner alleges that she and Johnson were in a sexual relationship during his time with Lozada.
Johnson has been silent over the past few days, only releasing a statement apologizing “to everyone for the recent events that have occurred.”
