Police have identified the female who was struck and killed while jogging on 14th Street and Constitution Avenue Saturday morning.
The victim was struck around 6:00 a.m. by a tractor trailer traveling northbound on14th Street NW near the National Mall.
The truck is described as white with a conventional cab. It has a rear window and an air deflector attached to a flatbed containing a scissor lift and a rectangular crate.
It is unclear is the operator of the vehicle realized they struck a pedestrian.
The investigation is still continuing and the name will not be released until appropriate next-of-kin notifications have been made.
