VIA WASHINGTON POST:

D.C. Mayor Adrian M. Fenty (D) once again said he was sending his sons to public school this fall, a campaign promise he made when running for mayor in 2006.

Twin sons Andrew and Matthew attended a private school that ended at third grade, and Fenty vowed that they would join the public school system that he is trying to turn around as fourth graders.

Fenty, however, has been mum on where they will go. West Elementary School is the neighborhood school for Crestwood, where the Fentys reside. But there are reports of Fenty and wife Michelle looking at schools out of boundary.

Last Friday, Fenty was posed with questions from The Washington Post about the matter and he declined to answeer, citing the privacy of his sons.

Mafara Hobson said the boys are not yet officially enrolled though they will be by Aug. 24 when school begins. She also declined to identify the school of choice.
