(Washington, DC)  —  The U.S. Senate is poised to refuel the “Cash For Clunkers” program by pumping in an extra two billion dollars.  The effort hit a little detour last weekend when it ran out of cash.  The House quickly reacted by moving billions from one part of the economic stimulus program into the “Clunkers” program.  The U.S. Senate is poised to do the same this evening.  The “Cash For Clunkers” program gives motorists up to $4500 when they trade in an older gas-guzzling vehicle on a new, fuel-efficient one.
