Metro Worker Struck And Killed By Equipment

(Fairfax County, VA) — A Metro employee is dead after being struck by track maintenance equipment on the Orange Line tracks between the Dunn Loring and Vienna stations. It happened before 10 p.m. while the employee was working on a scheduled track maintenance project. The victim’s name has not been released, but officials say he has worked for the transit agency for about 25 years. It’s unclear why the accident happened. Metro says a full investigation will be conducted. It remains unclear whether service will be affected on the Orange Line this morning.
