Trial Begins In Football Player’s Death
(Miami, FL) – After years of delays, the man accused of killing Washington Washington Football Team safety Sean Taylor is finally going on trial. According to the “Miami Herald,” jury selection gets underway today in the case against Eric Rivera. Because Rivera was 17 at the time of the incident, he faces life in prison instead of the death penalty. Four other people were charged in the 2007 break-in at Taylor’s Florida home. Prosecutors say the botched-robbery turned fatal when Taylor confronted the group with a machete. He was shot in the upper leg and died after massive blood loss a day later.
