Attempted Sexual Assault of Child

Early Sunday morning a nine year old child, according to New Carrollton Police, was assaulted in an attempted sexual assault. This all occurred at 8:30am Sunday,  in the area of the 8400 block of Annapolis Road in New Carrollton, MD states Fox 5 DC. The assailant threw the child to the ground in an attempt to sexually assault, but the 9 year old was able to break free and run to a nearby house to report what happened. No injuries were reported

Police are now looking for a man who fits the description, “black male in his 20’s, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing red shorts, black shirt, with a cartoon on the front with yellow in it.  He has a close cropped beard (trimmed stubble). There were no scars or tattoos observed.”

Anyone with information is urged to call Prince Georges County Police Emergency Communications Center 301-352-1200 and ask for the New Carrollton Police.
