Muhammadu Buhari has officially won Nigeria’s presidential election, beating Goodluck Jonathan by nearly 2 million votes. This is the first time in the country’s history that an opposing party has come out victorious over a ruling party. “A new day and a new Nigeria are upon us,” Buhari said. “The victory is yours, and the glory is that of our nation.” In his new role, he’ll have to address the violence brought on by Boko Haram extremists and income disparities. Actress Raven-Symoné has been making headlines lately for her outlandish remarks, causing many of us who adored her as little Olivia on The Cosby Show to give her the side-eye. During an interview on Oprah’s Where Are They Now, she claimed that she didn’t want to be classified as “African-American” or “gay,” but now she’s claiming that she’s from every continent in Africa, according to a DNA test. “Thank you to Ancestry.com for sending me my DNA test … I am from every continent in Africa except for one and I’m also from every continent in Europe except for one,” she said. Fraternities Lobby to Stop Rape Incidents from Being Investigated by Colleges

Sexual assault has been an ongoing issue on the campuses of colleges and universities. Many fraternities have been tied to the incidents taking place. Greek life organizations are now lobbying to stop colleges from investigating rapes, saying the duty should be placed solely on police. “We believe law enforcement should be involved in the investigation of college-based sexual assault claims — unless the student victim asks the college administrators not to involve the police,” said Larry Wiese, executive director of Kappa Alpha Order.
