Taraji P. Henson Really Hates Cookie Lyon

There’s no doubt about it – Taraji P. Henson absolutely nails her portrayal of Empire‘s Cookie Lyon. But she’s so good, in fact, that no one is actually paying attention to Henson anymore. It’s all about Cookie, and it’s getting on her nerves.

On Late Night with Seth Meyers, Henson revealed she’s not her character’s biggest fan, and that she actually “hates” Cookie. “She’s stolen my identity!” she said. “No one ever calls me by my name anymore. They call me ‘Cookie.’”

But at the same time, being the cultural phenomenon that Cookie’s become definitely has its advantages. For example, when Henson is at the best table in the hottest restaurants, her alter-ego gets her the best table in the house. Gotta take the good with the bad, right? Watch the clip below.
